The Relationship Clinic of Waco

Our goal is to see relationships made whole.

I get it, going to therapy is already an awkward thing to do and it makes it that much more challenging when you worry about if the person across from you really understands you or your culture without having to explain in grave detail…and that’s if it’s acknowledged.

When we moved to Waco, I wanted to get an idea of the private practitioners here. In all of my searching, I found 2 female women of color and 0 men of color who were professional therapist. I saw this as both a problem and an opportunity and as a result, we established a mental health clinic that would give people of color a choice…because it matters.

Something that also may be helpful to know is that I value you as a person. So from the gate you will experience unconditional positive regard. That’s a fancy way of saying that there is nothing too ugly, too shameful, or too “off limits” to say and explore in therapy. There is zero time and space for judgement. I’d much rather spend that time helping you, the client, reach your goals in your journey toward becoming whole.

In addition to specializing in pre-marriage, marriage and family therapy, TRC waco also offers a place where clients can come to heal from racism. Too often we walk around with the hurt and pain inflicted by other people and systems. We don’t talk about it. And unfortunately, that drives the wedge of hatred even further between people groups. Our nation is in need of healing from racism…I figured The Relationship Clinic can be a place to start that process.
