Level 3 Wellness Consulting, PLLC Claimed

You owe it to yourself to be well.

Wellness is Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Wellness is multifaceted, spanning many areas of your life: mental/emotional, physical, spiritual, social, occupational, financial, and more. Sometimes in life, though, we get stuck in focusing so hard on being well in one area that we inadvertently forget about the others. In laying the foundation of our careers, we unknowingly neglect our relationships. In securing “the bag”, we blindly sacrifice health and rest. In constantly extending ourselves to others, we overlook the importance of regularly investing in ourselves. But…

You owe it to yourself to be well, fully.

You deserve better. You deserve to feel fulfilled and balanced. You deserve to feel at peace and secure. You deserve a life of purpose, crafted by your own design, rather than one constrained by outside limitations.

I’d love to help guide and empower you in finding balance and crafting a purpose-filled life.

I’m Dr. Shiquina Andrews, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Houston, Texas. Through my Level 3 Wellness Consulting, PLLC practice, I offer office-based individual assessment and psychotherapy services for adults in the greater Houston area. I also offer tele-psychotherapy via HIPAA-compliant video conferencing to adult clients throughout Texas. I obtained my PhD in Medical/Clinical Psychology. Accordingly, much of my work has been helping people with various chronic health concerns cope better with their condition and/or make changes to improve their health. However, I also more generally work with people on improving stress, reducing depression, improving interpersonal skills/relationships, increasing motivation for change, and increasing their general personal awareness and self-confidence. My therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), as I believe in the interconnection between our core beliefs and how we experience life. However, I do use other modalities (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Motivational Interviewing) as they “fit” for the person and their concerns. Finally, I believe in the importance and impact of intersectional identity (i.e., the interplay of our race/ethnicity, gender & sexual identities, religious/spiritual background, class, etc.) on one’s life experiences, and thus take a multicultural approach to therapy. If you’re looking for a therapist that is empathetic yet honest, who will give you the nudge you need, I’d love to set up a consultation so we can discuss your needs further.

Q Can you clarify your listed hours?

Certainly! My hours listed here are the times at which I can accept scheduled, online therapy sessions. Feel free to contact me at any time, however. I'll return contact as soon as I'm able.

Q Do you accept insurance?

New update! Level 3 is now an in-network provider with Cigna!

For interested folks for whom I am out-of-network, please inquire directly with your insurance carrier about whether online therapy is reimbursable. If so, I can present a master bill for those purposes.

Q What is tele-therapy? What should I know about it before considering?

Tele-therapy (sometimes called online therapy, tele-mental health, or web-based therapy) is the delivery of psychotherapy or counseling services via internet-based technology. I, in particular, use video-conferencing via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. As a provider, I enjoy it because it improves patient access, while still having somewhat of the "feel" of in-office visits through the use of videoconferencing. It's very convenient for working professionals and others who might be short on time, but are still very interested in therapy. It can also be useful for those who might still be a bit reluctant about therapy... they can "get their feet wet" so to speak, in a less-pressured context while deciding if in-person therapy is "right" for them. Finally, for certain populations and presenting problems, telemental health has proven as effective as in-person therapy.

However, while online therapy has proven effective for some persons and issues, it might not be the best alternative for others. The purpose of the consultation is to not only get to know each other and your goals, but to carefully consider whether the online modality is the most appropriate for you at this time.

Q Do you offer group therapy?

Soon! I plan to offer health and wellness-focused groups for women in the coming year. I also plan to offer career-specific wellness workshops for those in the helping professions (i.e., medical providers, nurses, educators, etc.) in the future. I'll advertise those on my social media platforms, so follow the Level 3 Wellness Instagram and Faceook pages for more details.

Q How do I set-up a consultation?

Send a message through the website or email me at dr.andrews@level3wellness.com. I'll call you back as soon as I can.
