I commonly see people who use perfectionism, people-pleasing, and overthinking strategies as a defense mechanism to cover up feelings of inadequacy, shame, ADHD symptoms, and the impacts of trauma.
To facilitate meaningful and sustainable change, I help my clients understand where the issues they’re struggling with stem from—situational/environmental issues, formative or traumatic experiences, societal/cultural expectations, generational trauma, etc. I am also attentive to various systemic factors that impact my clients’ lives.
