I aim to help people who are struggling to live in the here-and-now as well as assist in helping individuals care for themselves. I recognize that there is still an enormous stigma surrounding seeking therapy, which is why I commend you on helping me eliminate the stigmas that revolve around mental health.
I specialize in helping individuals, families, and couples through: depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, etc. As a Trained Level 1 Gottman Couple’s therapist, I help couples who are struggling with marital/premarital hardships and communication issues. I also have a passion for working with marginalized communities (Black, LGBTQ, and HIV/AIDS).
As an African American woman who grew up thinking therapy was only for “crazy” people who was taught to only pray about it, I understand how it feels to not have anyone to talk to about your mental health. It can get lonely and isolating. Why does it have to be any of those things? I am a black therapist who is here for you! My office is intended to be a safe, yet impactful environment in which any person from any walk of life would feel welcomed.
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for a therapist. I offer a free 15-minute consultation where we take the time to explore if I am the right therapist for you.
