As a genderqueer lesbian and child of an African-American father and Caucasian mother, I certainly know what it’s like to walk between worlds and never quite feel like you’re a good fit in any of them. One reason I wanted to become a therapist is to give a safe emotional home to the other misfits and black sheep; you are not alone! I love my job, because I genuinely find my clients fascinating individuals, and I strive to provide the clear looking glass that my clients can gaze into and reflect back to themselves their own truth.
