About

Welcome! My name is Amber Boyd. I am an African-American, queer-identified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both California & Texas. Although my profile says that I am located in California, I have a “virtual office”. My work strives to dispel the myth that mental health is taboo, especially in marginalized communities by co-creating an affirming space. I desire to support folx along their personal journeys to explore questions that they’ve had, start peeling back layers, and support with building what that means for the present/future.

I have an online therapy practice, which makes it more accessible for the busy lives that clients tend to lead. (Less traffic and parking :)). I hope to provide support with: identity, LGTBQ+, forms of oppression, depression, school/work-related stress, body positivity, self-esteem, social justice, and familial stress.

When we walk into a room, we enter not only as an individual but as community members in which we identify: biological, social/chosen, work, etc. Our history within community can create conflict and I can support individuals around increasing positive communication/interactions and engaging their authentic selves within said settings.
